WUKY-FM will broadcast the 2014 Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday. The event took place Jan. 23 at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning.

The inductees that night included Thomas Merton, Thomas D. Clark, Etheridge Knight, and Jesse Stuart. The master of ceremonies at the event was Carnegie Center director Neil Chethik and readers and speakers included Marcia Thornton Jones, Dr. James Klotter, Katerina Stoyanova, Sarah Wylie VanMeter, Jude McPherson, Eric Reece and Georgia Green Stamper.

In addition to the radio broadcast, WUKY has created a Hall of Fame web page that includes pictures, biographies and recordings of readings of works by the authors. This is the second year for the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame, created by the Carnegie Center. At this time, writers must be deceased to be considered for admission.
